Post Twister Skylift - Chinook Twin Co-axial rotor
Hi Everyone,

Just thought I'd post up about my new "aquisition" !

I bought a Twister Skylift over the weekend which is a RTF heli.

It's a brilliant piece of kit, even if a bit pricey at £138 - shipped. But the chap threw in an extra LiPo battery as part of the deal.

I love the fact that the transmitter can be used with the PC to fly models on any R/C Flight Simulators - they even provide the USB cable to connect the TX to the PC - Brilliant !!

Another neat thing on the TX is the fact that it is easily switchable between Modes. I switched it from Mode 2 to my preference of Mode 1 in around 15-20 minutes.
The time is taken by switching the ratched and spring around as that pretty fiddly - but the electronic switchover is by means of a small switch on the PCB board inside the transmitter.

When I get chance I'll post up some pics of the Heli and pics of the Mode changeover.

Cheers

Tris

Well, I haven't had time to take pics as the flipping Heli has been grounded!!

First I get a broken rotor hub. So I replaced that.

Then after that I find that one of the outer shafts was slightly bent and causing instability.

So got the parts needed and took it to the Pontardulais model shop to make sure the parts were installed correctly. - Jamie is great there by the way!

But when I got it back the bladed installed at the shop were the wrong thickness and were too flexible. So the chopper promptly hit the deck when I tried to hover it. And smashed the blades.

Feels like I'm doomed with this !!

When it's airborne - I'll post some pics and vids.

Keep watching!!

And somebody - please post here !!!! :D

Well, after some practice and lots of adjustments at the linkages, she's finally flying nicely!!

When I get chance I'll try getting some video and pics up.
